Now a lot of people have Comcast including me, and of course, they are expensive as hell. Well, there are ways to get around that.
I watch my TV on the computer
So for starters, if you are a tech head, why do you have cable? There are numerous ways to watch your favorite shows online. One big reason for this is, of course, on demand. You don’t have to wait for your shows to come on, just a few clicks, and there you go. Now there are a bunch of places to watch what you want online.
Now if you are strictly a sit at the computer type of person, then all you need is just your browser. Just hit up sites such as:
http://www.hulu.com
http://www.free-tv-video-online.info
http://www.fancast.com
or you can do a little Google searching and just search for “watch xyz online”. For the slow people, take Family Guy for example. Now you can watch Family Guy’s new episodes on Hulu, but if you are looking for old episodes, then search for “watch Family Guy online” and BAM, a bunch of sites to watch Family Guy at.
Now if you are a bit advanced with the computer, you can be illegal if you want and just download full seasons using your torrent software, but to stay on the legal side of things with the post, just do what I say above.
I’ll rather watch my TV on a TV…yeah that thing…
Now if you are the sit on the couch in front of the tv person, you can follow one of these articles to get a media center such as XBMC or Boxee or just stream your video files onto your big LCD screen in the living room:

Bump that noise, can I just keep my cable?
So you’re not the computer expert and you want to keep your cable on. Maybe you can use some convincing skills and talk you way into a cheaper bill. Here is an article I found on how you can talk your way into getting your bill chopped by a third:
How I Cut my Comcast Cable Bill by 33% Without Losing Any Service
http://www.getrichslowly.org/blog/2009/12/16/how-i-cut-my-comcast-cable-bill-by-33-without-losing-any-service/
So to recap, you can either cut your cable completely and just use your internet for TV fun or you can keep your cable and try to lower your bill through so rough conversation. Whatever you do, I just hope you don’t pay $40237403927 just to watch TV when you can damn near watch it for free!
